Privacy Policy
Effective August 15, 2026
Med Shed is designed to keep medication information private and under your control. This policy explains how the Med Shed iOS app handles information.
Information stored on your device
Information you enter—including profile names, medication names, strengths, directions, schedules, pharmacy details, dose history, notes, and medication photos—is stored locally on your device. Med Shed does not require an account and does not upload this information to a Med Shed server.
Camera, photos, and label scanning
Camera access is used only when you choose to photograph a medication or scan a bottle label or barcode. Photo-library access is used only when you choose a photo. Label text recognition is performed on your device. Photos you save remain in the app’s local storage unless you choose to export or share information.
Medication catalog searches
When you use the official drug catalog search, the medication search terms you enter are sent directly to publicly available services operated by the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s DailyMed and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s openFDA program so results can be returned. Med Shed does not attach your name, medication profile, photos, dose history, or advertising identifier to those requests. Those government services may process routine internet information, such as an IP address, under their own privacy practices.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Med Shed schedules medication reminders locally through Apple’s notification system. You can change notification permission in iPhone Settings.
Sharing and reports
Medication and dose-history PDF reports are created only when you request them. A report leaves the app only when you choose a destination through Apple’s share sheet.
No advertising or tracking
Med Shed does not contain third-party advertising, analytics trackers, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal or medication information.
Children and family profiles
Med Shed is intended for adults organizing medication routines, including caregivers managing family profiles. The app is not directed to children under 13. Family-profile information remains stored locally on the device.
Deleting information
You can remove medications, history entries, and profiles within the app where those controls are available. Deleting Med Shed from your device removes the app’s locally stored information. Information you previously exported is controlled by the destination where you saved or shared it.
Medical information
Med Shed is an organization and reminder tool, not a medical provider and not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always verify scanned or catalog information and follow instructions from your pharmacist or healthcare professional.
